Dr. Lönner is a visionary in the field of probiotics, who, based on research, wants to help us understand how Daily use of the right probiotics brings many benefits to health - both inside and out! After being involved in bringing Swedish probiotics research to our breakfast table through ProViva®, he decided to also use this knowledge on our best friends – the dog, the horse and the cat. The success of Swedish ProViva® was based, among other things, on that a unique lactobacillus strain was found in a healthy human. Now the same principle has been used on the animal side. His mission with Animal Probiotics AB is to share his knowledge of the Good probiotic bacteria to help us give our animals the very best conditions for good health.

Veterinarian Marie Ålund has worked for almost 20 years in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry in various positions from product manager to Nordic manager for the pet business area (dog/cat/horse) at Ceva Animal Health. The interest in, and understanding of, the great importance of intestinal flora was awakened when Vet. Ålund and Dr. Lönner's paths crossed for the first time in 2014 at a course on probiotics for horses. Dr. Lönner's knowledge in microbiology gave her as a veterinarian a new dimension of knowledge and an understanding that probiotics is a complex field that requires a lot of knowledge and species-specific research. In 2017, she returned to working clinically with small animals and horses, and after she started working in parallel with ProEquo AB (today Animal Probiotics AB) in 2018, she and Dr. Lönner developed a close collaboration.
Our story
Animal Probiotics Sweden AB (formerly ProEquo AB) was formed in 2004 in connection with the company taking over the company Probi's entire collection of probiotic bacteria intended for the animal side, a liquid product formulation with a two-month shelf life when refrigerated and a patent on the probiotic bacteria that is today included in the horse product OnlyGoodHorse . This was the beginning of our journey with Animal Probiotics, which today has resulted in our OnlyGood products, where we can offer animal probiotics with a shelf life at room temperature of over one year.
Our business concept is to be the market leader in animal probiotics by offering world-unique probiotic products primarily for horses, dogs and cats. Probi AB, which is behind the successful health drinks ProViva® and the dietary supplements Probi mage®, Probi järn® and Probi frisk® on the human side, was formed in 1991 on the basis of a research project at Lund University of Technology that started in 1986. Shortly after ProViva® was launched in 1994, Probi further invested in a feed project that finally resulted in the product ProEquo (today OnlyGoodHorse). The same researchers who were behind ProViva® were also responsible for this project, of which Dr. Lönner was one of them.
